2017 Finals Day at Kingsfield

On a fabulous day we held our 2017 Finals Day at Kingsfield Golf Club, Linlithgow. In total we had 136 boys and girls taking part, which with all the parents meant around 350 attending.

Many thanks to everyone at Kingsfield Golf Club for their help on the day, the course and food were fantastic, special mention to Jane Allan, Robert Arkley and Lee Fraser for all their hard work and to Stephen's wife Helen, mum Wilma and Janet Fleming and our many volunteers on the day for their fantastic efforts.

To my special assistant Stuart Johnston and our merry band of volunteers, Louis Knowles, Jim McDiarmid, Val McDiarmid, Jeff Little, David McAdam, Kirsty McAdam, Justin White, Andy Mckay, Tracey Johnston, Niamh Johnston, Jake Johnston, Robert Johnston, Lyndsy Sturton, Carol Gash, and Lynne Little, without these people our events don't run, some of these people helped today but all have been a great help throughout the year, we as a Foundation salute you all.

On top of our main event we also held our "Short Game" World Match Play Championship in which all of the children competed in , this was superbly run, as always by our Professional Jane Connachan, with Jake Johnston eventually beating Maisie Witt in the Final. Fantastic job Jane.

Our Professionals Jane Connachan and David Burns have done a fantastic job for the Foundation throughout the year and the proof of how good they are is shown not only by the scoring today but by the improvement all the boys and girls have made throughout the year, Well done

The golf on the day was of an exceptional standard and befitting a finals day event. Ruben Lindsay led the way in the Under 14 stroke play event with a fabulous 2 under par 32, with a 6 at the first. This was followed quickly by 35's in the Under 12 boys from Harry Bent and Fergus Borwn (Harry winning the play-off) and a excellent 42 from Blair Roberts in the Under 10's. The girls were not to be undone, in the Under 14 Girls, Jennifer Reilly and Alicja Gorka scoring 42 (Jennifer winning the play-off) and Orla O'leary in the Under 18's scoring 40.

The flag event though was not to be out done, with four payer qualifiying for our stroke play section. In the Under 12's Fraser Duncan scored 32 and Alexander Ainsworth scored 33, in the Under 8's Cameron Arnold scored 35 but the score of the day goes to Riley Campbell in the Under 8's with a fantastic 31!

This event also seen the completion of our year long Order of Merits in the stroke play section. A fantastic competitive event throughout the year for the Under 14, Under 12 and Under 10 Boys and under 18 and Under 14 girls. Congratulations to the winners Ruben Lindsay Under 14 boys, Brodie Cunningham Under 12 Boys and Kiron Gribble Under 10 Boys, Lauren Reid Under 18 Girls and Jodie Graham Under 14 Girls.
