Hi All,

I have just finished a hectic few weeks which included 4 tournaments for the beginning of my season. The first event was the Cuthbertson Cup which was being played at Glenbervie. It was a team event which was a match play format, my team mates and I  managed to retain the cup.

Next was the Irish Under 18's Stroke Play Championship at Roganstowns, Dublin. This was my first time playing in the event and the field of the competition was a strong one with the handicap entry cut at 4. The first competition day involved 36 holes, in my morning round I shot a 77 (6 over) and in the afternoon I finished with a 82 (11 over) - the scoring was definitely more difficult in the afternoon with stronger winds, I managed to make the cut of the top 50 players and in the final round shot a 79 (8 over). I was pretty happy in the end as I managed my main goal for the week of making the cut.

A week on and it was the start of the Helen Holm Scottish Open Stroke Play Championship at Troon. This event is played over the Portland course for the first two rounds and then a cut for the top 66 players to proceed onto the Royal Troon Links for the final round. This is also a new event for me, the field yet again was a strong one with the handicaps ranging from +4.7-3.9. In the first round I shot a 77 (5 over) and followed it up with a second round 78 (6 over). I made the cut for the third round and got to play the famous Royal Troon course, however the weather on the final round produced gale force winds making scoring very difficult and finished up with an 83 (11 over).

Finally, it was the Fairhaven Trophy at Lytham another next competition for me. In the first round I scored an 85 and the second round shot a 83, unfortunately the weeks before had used up my energy and it showed in my performances over the weekend, I missed the cut of the top 6 players, but enjoyed my time at Fairhaven.

A couple weeks off for myself now with exams coming up...

I hope everyone is well and enjoying their golfing season so far!
