New Edinburgh High School League

The first event of the New Edinburgh High School League took place on Friday 12th April at Carricknowe golf course. This league is run by Active Schools Edinburgh and is supported by ourselves and Clubgolf.

Many thanks on the day to Edinburgh Leisure and to Carrickvale Golf Club, in particular George Alexander for helping us key the scores in for the CSS for the day.

The course, considering the weather was in excellent condition for all the players and the scoring was of an excellent standard on testing day.

There is a Scratch Division, and Stableford Handicap Division and Handicap Team Division ( best 3 team scores count).

The low scratch score of the day was by Connor McWatt from Royal High with an excellent 72, with the leading handicap score being Craig McKay from Tynecastle with an impressive 43 points. In the team section Firrhill lead the way with a total of 202, 3 in front of Royal High.

The CSS for the day was 68

There is an order of merit running throughout the year with points issued on the following basis

1.100 points

2. 75 points

3. 50 points

4. 25 points

5. 10 points

All others 5 points for completing the round

If tied points are shared

NR's will receive no points
