Race to Dunbar 2018

54 boys and girls competed today in our Finals Day, Race to Dunbar. All the boys and girls qualified for this through our U18, U15 Boys and U18 Girls Scratch and handicap order of merits played throughout the Lothians in 2018.
Many thanks to everyone at Dunbar GC for the hospitality shown on the day and to the members for giving up their course for the kids this afternoon. Special mention to Captain Andrew Allan, Liz Thom, Jacky Montgomery and John Barbour for all their help in organising the event and for James Hughes and all his team in keeping us well fed.
The weather unfortunately was not kind to us this year with strong winds and gusts of 40mph over the day, the course though was in fantastic condition for the kids and the boys and girls did their best in trying conditions and still produced some excellent scoring on a Open Qualifying golf course.
The low score of the day was a 73 from Aaron Hall (Kilspindie) which was fantastic in these conditions with James Wood  (Bathgate) leading the Handicap section with an excellent nett 71.
The CSS for the day was
BOYS: 75
GIRS: 76
The results from today were as follows:
1. Aaron Hall (Kilspindie)                                  73
2. Joseph Cookson (Gullane)                           74
3. Conor O'Toole (Craigmillar Park)                 75
4. Cameron Adam ( Royal Burgess)                 77
4. Ruben Lindsey (Ayr Belleisle)                      77
4. Connor Wilson (Castle Park)                        77

1. James Wood (Bathgate)                              71
2. Joseph Kelly (Cambuslang)                         74
3. Fraser Wanstall (Royal Burgess)                 75
3. Fergus Brown (Gullane)                               75
3. Samuel Mukherjee (Loretto)                        75
Well done to all the players who competed in 2018 in all the Order of Merit events, it was great to see so many children competing throughout the year.
