Texas Scramble Fun at Kingsfield

Texas Scramble Fun at Kingsfield

At Kingsfield GC today we had 60 boys and girls playing the first Texas Scramble of the year. The weather was cold and windy but all the kids performed well.

Many thanks to Robert Arkley and Jane Allan and their staff from Kingsfield for helping us so much on the day and for keeping us all well fed and watered.

On the day we had our Texas Scramble and Skills test competition.

The skills test competition was a combination of a 30yrd and 50yrd short game challenge. Clearly going by the performances on the day all the children have been coached well on their short game, especially Lauren Reid, who scored 80 points on the challenge, which was the equivalent of pitching within 5 feet of the hole, 16 out of 20 times, fantastic. The results were as follows:

1. Lauren Reid    Score 80 points

2. Rory McClafferty   Score 77 points

3. James Wilson and Ryan McCormick   Score 71 points

The Texas Scramble scoring was also of a very high standard, the winning score was a fabulous 29 from the team Happy Slicers: Lewis Irvine, Josh Beveridge, George Gannon and James Woods, well done boys. The results for the day were as follows:

1. Team: Happy Slicers     Score 29

Lewis Irivne, Josh Beveridge, George Gannon and James Woods

2. Team: Fade and Draw     Score 30 (on countback)

Cameron Adam, Cameron McHardy and Mollaidh Nicholson

3. Team: Major League Golfers   Score 30

Lauren Reid, Sebastian Sandin, Adam Laidlaw and Calum Horsburgh

Well done to all the boys and girls and parents for braving the tough conditions today.

Also many thanks to all who were able to stay for the presentation.

Our next event takes place on Sunday 15th March at the Hermitage GC, entry as always through our website.
